The following projects were started and finished by Bertel Construction Inc in the Mountain Home area. We needed a shop/garage built before winter and after calling four different contractors from the area, Bertel Construction Inc. was the only one who returned our call. Mark Bertel arrived on time to discuss the project needs and after inspecting the site he said he would put a proposal together and would return in a timely manner. He did.  He started the project in mid November and finished in January while fighting bad weather through the entire project. The next major project was to replace the stairway to the basement which was a death trap both my wife and I had fallen on. Mark Bertel came over and measured the stairway area and came up with a solution.  Another project started and completed.  It turned out perfectly.
Project number three was the removal and rebuilding of our back deck.  He extended it four more feet out and put a roof over it. Mark Bertel finished the underside of the roof in pine tongue and groove which really put the finishing touch to this project.
Project number four was the removal of a support column in the basement and the installing of a glulam beam to create a large open area in our basement.  Not listed are the projects done by Mark Bertel personally when he stopped by to give me a hand. In short Mr. Bertel has the tools, equipment, knowledge, and experience to do the job he takes on.

We were trying to decide between building a house or adding on to meet the needs of our growing family. With Mark's insightful ideas we added a beautiful master bedroom/bath and new deck. In addition, he enhanced our back yard with a wooden privacy fence that is perfect as well. It is nice to find a contractor who is honest, hard working, and professional. Thank you, Bertel Construction Inc.

We wanted to remove a load-bearing wall in the center of our house and open up the space between the living room and dining room. Everyone we talked to said we needed a large beam under the ceiling to carry the load when the wall was removed. It would have been ugly and destroyed the open feeling we were hoping to achieve. Mark took a different approach. He engineered a beam to go in the attic, above the ceiling. The result was beautiful and just what we wanted.

While he was working in our attic, Mark noticed our insulation was not adequate. He made a few calls and arranged to have additional insulation blown in for a very reasonable cost. This has already more than paid for itself in energy savings.

Mark was on time, under budget and he exceeded our expectations for quality. His crew was polite, professional in all aspects of the work done in our home. Thanks to Mark Bertel and his crew, our home is much nicer and less expensive heat and cool.
